Nous avons passe 2 jours a Jogyakarta, 2eme plus haut lieu touristique d'Indonesie apres Bali. Ils ont garde une forte cultures javanaise, a travers notamment le batik, le theatre d'ombre et la musique. 80% de la population est maintenant musulmane mais ils pratiquent un islam empreint d'hindouisme et de boudhisme.
Alors qu'au Cambodge, le pays alternait entre hindouisme et boudhisme selon le roi au pouvoir, ici les 2 religions ont pu vivre en harmonie grace aux mariages entre monarchies hindouiste et boudhiste. D'ou les temples entres tres bien conserve, contrairement au Cambodge our les rois ordonnaient la destruction des temples des monarches precedents soit hindous soit boudhistes.
Par contre il y a eu un tremblement de terre en 2006 de magnetude 5.3 qui a dure une bonne minute, ca qui a malheureusement bien detruit certains sites. Voila, en gros ce qui me reste des commentaires de notre guide./

In Cambodia, the country used to be ruled by eirth a hindou or a boudhist kind. So each time the kind used to order the destruction of the other religion temples. But in Jogyakarta the kingdoms had arranged marriages among hindou and boudhist heirs so that the 2 religions lived in harmony and there hasn't be any man-made destruction.
However there has been a 5.3 magnitude earthquake in 2006 which damaged some sites pretty badly. The history lesson is over and as pictures speak more than words, here you go:
